My photo
My name is Frances Rose Agnes Napper aka SmileyRose. I am a friendly and fun loving individual. I like meeting new/old friends. Although I love being with friends, I also enjoy my own space from time to time. I have a number of hobbies. I enjoy taking photographs, going to the theatre, travel (visiting new and exciting places), reading, films and listening to music. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I particularly enjoy it when we all get together. I was a full-time mother for both of my daughters and I did not go back to work until they both reached primary school age. The UK has a lot to offer because there are so many picturesque places to visit. I particularly enjoy the British countryside. My home town was in Stamford, Lincolnshire although I am currently living in Peterborough. My Father was a serving member of the RAF. I'd consider myself well travelled from a very early age (6 months old). Divorced - for 10yrs. Currently single. I am interested in meeting nice folk only. :) Star sign - Leo the Lion. Birthday -July 29th. That's me in a nutshell. :)

What's your earliest memory?

Sitting in my pram and dancing/shaking along to my favourite song on the radio. I was almost a toddler at the time. I also remember running to the little sweet shop at the corner of my nans street and buying sweets from the jars the shop keeper used to keep behind her counter. By the way, I had a name for her. I used to call her 'Lady' because I always used to tell everyone I'm off to the ladies to buy some sweets. :)

What is your favourite piece of music?

Lakme (The Flower Duet) :)

This is so funny even all of these years later. Comedy at its best. :)

Ok! Which Monkeys Are On Guard Duty Tonight?

Hmm they say monkeys are our closest relatives. It made me smile/chuckle to read the recent report re monkeys on guard duty in India.  Well I guess it saves money and the cost would be considerably cheaper than paying folk to do the same job. ;)

"Some Like It Hot" Star

Hollywood legend actor Tony Curtis died of a heart attack recently.  The Hollywood actor starred in the old classic film "Some Like It Hot" and of course he also starred along side James Bond actor Roger Moore in the TV series "The Persuaders" .... It was an old favourite TV programme of mine back in the 1970's.  He will be sadly missed by his many fans.

"I'm Smarter Than The Average Bear" ;)

Hey!  I've just heard about the new Yogi Bear film which stars Dan Ackroyd and Justin Timberlake.  I remember Yogi bear from my younger days. Hmmm definitely a film to watch out for.  :)

I'm as old as the dinosaurs. ;)

My Recent Holiday In Portugal - September 2010

I have just returned from my holiday abroad in the Algarve, Portugal *Beautiful* :)

Hmmm it was a little like going back to your roots. For those who do not know me, although I am very much a British Subject, my maiden name 'de Souza' originated from Portugal. It was indeed very nice to visit the country for the very first time. I did not find there was a language barrier because many of the Portuguese people can indeed speak English and many are very hospitable. I did however take a little phrase book with me just in cases. ;)

"Obrigada"... to all of you folk who made my holiday wonderful. This includes Monarch airlines for a safe journey to and from Portugal and to Thomas Cook for arranging my holiday for me. It also includes all of the Portuguese staff at the Alfagar hotel/apartment complex.

Last but not least, a huge thank you goes to my Mum who looked after my pet cockatiel 'Rosie' whilst I was away. Rosie looked as if she had been away on a nice holiday too. ;)

As much as I love going away, there's absolutely no place like home. It was really good to see the green, green grass of home as our plane touched down at Luton airport. :)

Please note that all of the photos feature me with just a few of the folk I met on my travels.:)

Please note no bikini shots as private
