About Me

My photo
My name is Frances Rose Agnes Napper aka SmileyRose. I am a friendly and fun loving individual. I like meeting new/old friends. Although I love being with friends, I also enjoy my own space from time to time. I have a number of hobbies. I enjoy taking photographs, going to the theatre, travel (visiting new and exciting places), reading, films and listening to music. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I particularly enjoy it when we all get together. I was a full-time mother for both of my daughters and I did not go back to work until they both reached primary school age. The UK has a lot to offer because there are so many picturesque places to visit. I particularly enjoy the British countryside. My home town was in Stamford, Lincolnshire although I am currently living in Peterborough. My Father was a serving member of the RAF. I'd consider myself well travelled from a very early age (6 months old). Divorced - for 10yrs. Currently single. I am interested in meeting nice folk only. :) Star sign - Leo the Lion. Birthday -July 29th. That's me in a nutshell. :)

Becoming New Parents

I recently read the article re Elton John and his partner recently becoming parents of a baby boy who was born via a surrogate mother in the USA. I feel sure their son will have everything any child could possibly wish for however having children is not only about giving your child everything in a materialistic sense...it is also about being a good parent and offering your child your full support when they need it.  There will be times when their child may come home crying because the other children were being particularly cruel. Being a parent is all about being there for your child/ren and making certain they don't get hurt.  Being the child of two parents from a gay relationship may bring the child some confusion as he is growing up, the art of being a good parent is making certain that the child doesn't feel hurt or confused or else he could grow up feeling resentment and perhaps have some mixed feelings about his parent/s. Other children can be particularly cruel sometimes. They need to be aware of this as it's not nice to see your children grow up feeling hurt by others.

Elton is going be a much older parent, this is usually the age when most parents look at becoming grandparents, will he be able to cope with all of the demands a young child requires?   Perhaps with his kind of money he will be able to employ lots of nannies to help out; however remember the film "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle"...Ewwwww nannies from hell.  Good luck! :)
