Do you live more in the past or the present?

I live more in the present however I tend write more in the past. :)

Ps Here's looking to a good future. ;)

Ask Me Anything, Just As Long As It's Within Reason. :)

Do you think it's right...?

Do you think it's right someone add their ex onto their facebook friends?

I'm not on facebook anymore. I suppose if they're an ex it would make me wonder why they still include their ex's as friends. In real life do folk still remain friends with their ex's particularly if they have new partners? Hmm I've not remained in a close friendship with any of my ex's. Maybe if you were both still single then you'd probably want to remain friends, but it could put potential partners off if you were looking for a new relationship maybe. I've never really thought too much about it to tell the truth. :)

Ask Me Anything, Just As Long As It's Within Reason. :)

Would you give up...?

Would you give up tweeting/blogging on the internet for the man you love?

Wow! That's an odd question to ask. Hmmm I wasn't aware that my bloggs could cause a stir, not for anyone else...and I do not tweet any more. I suppose if someone I met and fell in love with had a huge problem with me blogging then of course I'd be willing to give it up. Blogging isn't the be all and end all. It wasn't something I did throughout my marriage anyway as I never had the time for the internet back then. Our family did not even have an internet connection until I went back to full-time study whereby I was required to research information on the internet for the course I'd been taking. Being a busy mother I had plenty of other things to do and if we wanted to refer to anything I'd often take the children to the local library. I am fully aware that some internet sites can cause a little bit of jealousy and tensions between some couples particularly when some folk add their ex's onto their facebook pages etc.

It wouldn't cause me any great problems to give it up if it was going to interfere with my relationship. Since becoming single I usually blog just for the fun of it. It's not intended to cause anyone else any harm. :)

Ask Me Anything, Just As Long As It's Within Reason. :)

GOOD LUCK!

I'd just like to wish my daughter Catherine and all of her friends the very best of luck in whatever they all choose to do as official school leavers. I know some of you are all taking exams right now, however I'd just like to say I'm rooting for my daughter and all of her close friends to do well. The very best of luck to you all as you go off to either Uni or new jobs. x

SmileyRose x

Ok Enough Said!

Isn't it about time the press gave actor Hugh Grant a break. I know the man has a few faults however he hasn't done anything to deserve the continuous press coverage he gets about his escapade with a prostitute, which, incidentally, occurred so many years ago. There are so many guys out there who have slept with prostitutes and these women wouldn't else all be in business if they weren't picking up fellows. Although I don't condone their actions it's not fair to keep harping on about it. I don't suppose Hugh did himself any favours here by recently going on Newsnight to discuss his thoughts about gagging orders....but enough is enough and the story is now becoming boring.

Let's face it, what Hugh did was far less a crime than what some other celebs/famous have been caught out doing recently and they were married at the time!

Let's give the guy a break now and let's respect the fact that he's much older and wiser. He may wish to conduct a relationship with someone else in the future. He doesn't need the past biting him on the bum every two minutes and spare a thought for any potential partner he may be with and what she may be going through every time the news about his past is brought up. She may just want to concentrate on their future together...So enough is enough!

Let's remember there are men out there who have committed murder and who do not get the same trash thrown at them over and over again. *Tuts*

PS

Here's another law I would like to see changed! I may disagree with gagging orders however I also agree that there should be an order which stops prostitutes involved with guys who have the affairs from cashing in and making money from it!!!! It's one thing to stop the gagging orders so that it is all out in the open, but another for them to make themselves money from any wrong doing. Remember! It takes two to tango. Perhaps if the judge orders that any money made from such encounters should all go to charity. :)

"Hey Rock 'n' Roll"

by Showaddywaddy

"Rock Around The Clock" by Bill Hayley and The Comets :)

SmileyRose x

What do you think about Rock 'N' Roll?

I don't mind listening to Rock 'N' Roll music at all but only at the right venues specifically aimed at Rock 'N' Roll only. I've been friends with someone who was really interested in this kind of music. Both he and his wife invited me to a 'Rock 'N' Roll' evening and it was a really good evening. I really enjoyed listening to some of the rockabilly songs. Great fun. :)

Would you have body art?

It would have to be very subtle (in a discreet part of the body) and it would have to be one of those wash out ones. :)

Ask Me Anything, Just As Long As It's Within Reason. :)

Do you think it's acceptable to holiday with an ex b/f or g/f?

I wouldn't want to go on holiday with an ex. It is likely to put any potential b/f or g/f off if they find out you enjoy holidaying with your ex because they are likely to wonder if you'd continue holidaying with the ex even once you began a relationship together. These days you have to be certain your partner wants you and not an ex partner particularly if the relationship is going to progress any further.

Ask Me Anything, Just As Long As It's Within Reason. :)

My friends b/f told her she was great to date/go out with until someone better comes along!

He's quite obviously a very shallow person and it seems to me that he is only interested in women just for one thing (beginning with the letter S and ending with the letter X). You should stay clear of men like that and ask your friend to do the same if she's any sense.

Ask Me Anything, Just As Long As It's Within Reason. :)

What's your favorite season, and would you live all year in that season if you could?

I like most of the seasons. I would not want to live all year round in one season becase as much as I like spring time when all of the flowers start to bloom, I also enjoy autumn when all of the leaves on the trees begin to turn. It can all look very beautiful. :)

SmileyRose x

Unfair Dismissal

Why did Fox Executives, the folk who are responsible for the American X-Factor, sack Cheryl Cole recently and why did they have issues with her accent? I was surprised to hear the recent news particularly as they must have auditioned Ms Cole for the job in the first place. If they had doubts with Ms Cole's accent at the time then why on earth did they employ her only for them to go and sack her after only a few days into the job? Cheryl Cole's accent may not have been the easiest accent to understand, particularly not in the USA, however the folk responsible for giving her the job are the one's who should be blamed for not being honest right from the start.

I really feel sorry for Ms Cole as it is not her fault...it is just a shame the twits who employed her did not notice her accent right from the start. They did not have to give Cheryl the job. Did they feel obliged to give her the job because she'd already worked along side Simon Cowell on the UK version of the programme? Whichever, it was totally wrong of them to have given Ms Cole the job and then to sack her for the very thing which they had doubts about right at the beginning.

I wish Ms Cole the best of luck in whatever she chooses to do next. :)

What were the first CD's you ever bought? Mine was a classical music CD.

That's an easy question to answer. I bought two CD's at the same time. Elton John's Greatest Hits and Simply Red's Greatest Hits. :)

My first single (45) was "Native New Yorker" by Odyssey. :)

SmileyRose x

Who's your favorite relative and why are they your favorite?

Both of my daughters are my favourite relatives because I love them both dearly. :)

Ask Me Anything, Just As Long As It's Within Reason. :)

Could you have botox?

If botox was used to correct facial droops after accidents etc then of course I would consider it for corrective procedures. if it was for cosmetic reasons to improve the size of my breasts etc then I wouldn't have it done because once you start having botox you need to continue with it on a regular basis. It costs loads of money too. I would rather spend my money on living and enjoying myself etc without having to worry when my next injection was going to take place. :)

if I could afford to have it done ie., to make the wrinkles disappear etc then I'd have to consider it very carefully. I would probably choose not to have it done because I have noticed when some of the stars/celebs who have theirs done, how some can look so noticeable it sticks out like a sore thumb. It just doesn't look very natural. Each to their own though and it's perfectly ok if that's what someone else chooses to have done.

Any man who doesn't appreciate my little wrinkles once they start to appear, he isn't worth knowing anyway. :)

SmileyRose x

Suspicious!

Today's topic on the radio is: Would you feel suspicious if the man in your life suddenly bought you a gift which you weren't expecting? Would you feel suspicious? Would you wonder what he's been up to? Hmmmm or would you accept the gift in the manner it has been given to you and think yourself lucky? :)

LOL I'd do both. I'd gratefully receive the gift but I'd also wonder what he's been up to? If it's a small gift and he's often bought you small gifts right from the start of the relationship then I suppose it wouldn't be too much out of character. I suppose then you'd wonder why he wasn't buying you small gifts if he all of a sudden stopped...and who was he buying them for instead? ;)

SmileyRose x

Are you oriental coz your eyes look small?

No I am not. I have quite large, rounded, dark, wide eyes only in some of my photographs i'm quite often staring into the sunlight which makes me want to screw them up when i smile. LOL I do have fairly rounded eyes though and definitely not oriental. :)

Ask Me Anything, Just As Long As It's Within Reason. :)

What would you try if you had no fear?

I'm unsure if there is anything pressing that I'd like to try as i've done most of the things i've wanted to do already. The other things which I'd like to try is all a matter of time and nothing to do with having a fear. The things which I fear I would not want to try anyway. :)

Old Horse

An out-of-towner accidentally drives his car into a deep ditch on the side of a country road. Luckily a farmer happened by with his big old horse named Benny. The man asked for help. The farmer said Benny could pull his car out. So he backed Benny up and hitched Benny to the man's car bumper. Then he yelled, "Pull, Nellie, pull." Benny didn't move. Then he yelled, "Come on, pull Ranger." Still, Benny didn't move. Then he yelled really loud, "Now pull, Fred, pull hard." Benny just stood. Then the farmer nonchalantly said, "Okay, Benny, pull." Benny pulled the car out of the ditch. The man was very appreciative but curious. He asked the farmer why he called his horse by the wrong name three times. The farmer said, "Oh, Benny is blind, and if he thought he was the only one pulling he wouldn't even try."

Less Of The Gripes! Give Some Of Them The Respect They Deserve!

The other day I overheard someone griping about the elderly and some of the perks they receive i.e., the bus passes etc. I was quite taken aback by this. Don't these younger folk realize that it is our elderly, probably their own mothers/fathers or grandparents who have already spent a good number of years contributing to this society and some of these folk they deserve our respect rather than to be griped about? When they retire it is their turn to reap some of the benefits in whatever manner they can and if it means they get a bus pass then so be it and I for one am damn well happy they receive such benefits.

One day many of us are all going to reach that age and wouldn't you all like to live in some comfort after working hard for all of your lives?

Please don't begrudge our elderly for those small perks because as far as I'm concerned they all deserve it...plus a bit more if I had my own way. :)

Surely There's No Place That Far!

A new study reveals that divorce risk is 40% higher for couples whose commute to work is longer than 45 minutes. Apparently families where the man commutes, the woman is likely to take a less qualified job closer to home. This can mean less money whilst the woman has a larger share of the the responsibility for the kids and household.

Women commuters are also likely to experience career prospects and more money however they are also likely to feel more stress than commuting men.

Heck! I'm staying well away from commuting men and commuting doesn't really appeal to me either. ;)

But if you really love someone is there any place that far?....could it really cause divorce? :)

Surely there's "No Place That Far" :)

The Frog

Froggie used to be my childhood nickname. :)

Here's a funny croak for you. ;)

A frog goes into a bank and approaches the cashier. He can see from her name plate that the cashier's name is Patricia Whack. So, he says, "Mrs. Whack, I'd like to get a loan to buy a boat and go on a long holiday."

Patti looks at the frog in disbelief and asks how much he wants to borrow.

The frog says* "£30,000."

The cashier asks his name and the frog says that his name is Kermit Jagger, his dad is Mick Jagger, and that it is OK, he knows the bank manager.

Patti explains that £30,000 is a substantial amount of money and that he will need to secure some collateral against the loan.

She asks if he has anything he can use as collateral.

The frog says, "Sure. I have this," and produces a tiny pink porcelain elephant, about half an inch tall. Bright pink and perfectly formed.

Very confused, Patti explains that she'll have to consult with the
manager and disappears into a back office.

She finds the manager and says: "There is a frog called Kermit Jagger out there who claims to know you and wants to borrow £30,000. He wants to use this as collateral."

She holds up the tiny pink elephant. "I mean, what the heck is this?"

(are you ready?) :)

The bank manager looks back at her and says

"It's a knick knack, Patti Whack. Give the frog a loan. His old man's a rolling stone."

Things To Do Whilst STUCK In A Traffic Jam ;o)

It may help to pass the time. ;)

1. Every couple of minutes switch drivers.(get out of the car to do this.

2. Shout questions at other people like "do you have anything to read?"

3. Ask people in other cars how to get to a place that is not even in the same county/state.

4. Shout at people "IM GOING TO DISNEYLAND"

5. Turn up your music really loud and headbang to it even if its not headbanger music.

6. Turn up your music, get out of the car and start dancing. Encourage other folk to join you.

7. Have a very loud argument with an imaginary person.

8. Get out of the car and have a picnic on the roof of the car.

9. Headbang to no music

10. With the radio on full blast, continually change radio stations. Vary the music style. Change from country to rap to rock to classical etc.

11. If you have a car where the back seat folds down so you can get into the boot/trunk, crawl through the car out of the boot/trunk and then get back into the car.

12. Set up a pool in the bed of a truck and swim in it.

13. The first jeep you see, jump in the back and ask where are we going.

14. Get out of your car and tap another persons car and say "tag your it."

The following are fun to do if you are on a road trip with with two vehicles

1. If one vehicle is a truck with a camper shell, one person from each vehicle (preferable a guy and a girl) get in the back, wait about 15 minutes, mess up your hair rebutton your shirt the wrong way turn your shirt inside out or backwards jump up and down so the truck bounces. Then you can get out and get back into your vehicles and think about what other folk are thinking you did.

2. Toss a football between the two cars.

3. The drivers switch cars. Then a few minutes later switch back.

Who Was The First Person To Place Two Feet On Mount Everest?

Someone recently sent this to me and I liked it. :)

The first person to place two feet on Mount Everest was not actually Sir Edmund Hillary nor Tenzing Norgay, both on may 29, 1953. It was in fact Surveyor Andrew Waugh, who was the first to accurately measure Mount Everest as 29,000 feet exactly. But when he told people this extroadinary fact the public never believed him, and said it was all to unreal. This really annoyed Waugh and so he added another TWO feet onto the original measurement, therefore making the height of Mount Everest, 29,002 feet.

Get it?

I never actually asked,'Who was the first person to place TWO biological human feet of their own onto the peak of mount everest'

"Going Underground"

SmileyRose x

Ugh! There's far too much traffic on the roads SmileyRose. How can we sort this problem out coz it gripes me!

Well I have one solution, however not many folk will like it. I will always stick up for most women whenever possible but even I have noticed the amount of cars/traffic on the roads these days. Even the petrol price rises did not seem to stop the amount of traffic.

I remember back to when I used to do the school run. I noticed that some of the mothers who lived just up the road from the school how some would take their children to school in their cars. I of course always used to walk to and from the school to do the school run in the mornings and then in the afternoons to pick them up again.

It would relieve an awful lot of traffic from the roads if there were only one car per married couple. A husband and wife who both drive can quite easily share a car particularly if the women decides to go out to work for a second income. When the children were older I worked part time hours and my then husband would give me a lift to and from work. He was the main breadwinner whilst I mainly stayed at home to bring up my family. I really see no point in having a second car as the bus service was good....or if it was not maybe they should put on a better bus service in some areas to enable women to get to and from their jobs.

The main breadwinner should rely upon his car to get to and from work and he shouldn't be spending more time than necessary to get to and from work. A Mother on the other hand should be around more often for her children, therefore she shouldn't be working great distances from home anyway.

Well it's one way of relieving the traffic. :)

I know there are many who may not agree with this....however just look at our roads. England just isn't big enough to have as many cars on the roads. I remember back to when most couples only had the one car per home and traffic seemed so much better back then. :)

The End Of The World

Yesterday marked the apocalyptic prediction that the world would end at 6pm on 21.05.11.

Although the world did not actually end as some folk predicted and may have understood it to end, remember God works in mysterious ways and he most certainly wouldn't end the world just at the snap of his fingers. Did you ever stop to think that perhaps God meant it will be the end of the world because so few folk actually believe in religion these days? Perhaps God meant it would be the end of the world as we once knew it. There are far too many non believers in religion these days and there are far too many who bring up their children in the same manner. Maybe this is what God meant by it being the end of the world.

All I know is, if it had to be the end of the world then I was at one of the most beautiful places in the world at the time. I was photographing St Mary's Chapel at Clumber Park.:)

Another Fabulous Day!

I had another one of those fabulous days yesterday. I went to Clumber Park, Nottinghamshire with a friend. It was another photographing expediton at one of England's National Trust venues. :)

Clumber Park lies in 3,800 acres of green open space. It has one of Europe's larest double avenues of lime trees (3 miles long). There's a magnificent walled garden with a 450 ft glass house. There is the beautiful Victorian Chapel of St Mary's the Virgin situated in the grounds. It was built between 1886 and 1889 and it has a 180 ft spire. It's excellent to photograph. We walked the full 4 mile walk around the beautiful lake. The lake had some swans, mallards, coots and geese. Phew! Thankfully I was wearing some comfortable shoes. :)

We stopped off for lunch. There is a lovely little restaurant at the main centre at the park. I was amazingly surprised to see how huge my sausages were when I ordered sausages and mash. Hmmmm delicious and it was good value for money. :)

For those who have never been before I really recommend it particularly if you enjoy walking. :)

I'm due to visit America/The USA soon. When you went on your travels what parts of America did you visit?

I have only ever visited the United States just the once. I did a California tour in America back in 2009. I began by visiting Los Angeles, Hollywood, The Universal Studios, San Diego, Carmel, The Grand Canyon, Yosemite Park, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, Alcatraz and San Francisco to name just a few of the places I enjoyed visiting. It was a very good holiday and the folk living in the United States were very nice indeed. :)

Hey guys! Happy days are here again.;) Yes! You should all make the most of the sunny days by topping up your suntan. So on the count of three let's have you taking those shirts off!:o)

A recent study found that vitamin D, produced by the body when exposed to the sun, boosts the quality of sperm which become better at swimming towards the egg, have greater speed and are more penetrative. :)

The Truth Hurts Sometimes

A married man was having an affair with his secretary. One day they went on a date and spent all afternoon together. Exhausted, they didnt realise the time and suddenyl noticed it was 8 PM. The man hurried and told his lover to take his shoes and rub them in the grass and dirt. He put on his shoes and drove home. ‘Where have you been?’ his wife demanded. ‘I can’t lie to you,’ he replied,’I'm having an affair with my secretary. We were on a date all afternoon. ‘She looked down at his shoes as she give him a little whack telling him: ‘You're a lying toad! You’ve been playing golf!’

Where do most of your friends come from? What nationality are they all?

If we are talking about long term friendships then It is only natural for me to have English friends as I was brought up here in England. As a child I mainly lived on the RAF bases and most of the folk I was surrounded by were all British forces personnel and their families. There wasn't a lot of immigrants living in any of the towns/villages where I lived particularly not at any of the RAF camps. All of my school friends were all English. All of my parents friends were all English. I've lived and worked here in England for all of my life, therefore all of my friends are likely to be from England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland.

When my father was stationed abroad in Cyprus and Malaysia I did make one or two friends in both of those countries, however those friends live abroad and I don't really see them all that often.:)

"What Would You Want With A Box Like That?"

An Irishman goes to a carpenter. "Can you build me a box that's two inches deep, two inches wide and 50 feet long?"

"Well," says the carpenter, "it could be done, I suppose, but what would you want with a box like that?"

"Well'" said the Irishman, "my neighbour moved away and he forgot to take a few things with him -- and he asked me to send him his garden hose."

The Duck Hunter

An avid duck hunter was in the market for a new bird dog. His search ended when he found a dog that could actually walk on water to retrieve a duck. Shocked by his find, he was sure none of his friends would ever believe him. He decided to try to break the news to a friend of his, the eternal pessimist who refused to be impressed with anything. This, surely, would impress him. He invited him to hunt with him and his new dog. As they waited by the shore, a flock of ducks flew by. They fired, and a duck fell. The dog responded and jumped into the water. The dog, however, did not sink but instead walked across the water to retrieve the bird, never getting more than his paws wet. This continued all day long; each time a duck fell, the dog walked across the surface of the water to retrieve it. The pessimist watched carefully, saw everything, but did not say a single word. On the drive home the hunter asked his friend, "Did you notice anything unusual about my new dog?" "I sure did," responded the pessimist. "He can't swim." :)

A Smart Women :)

A policeman was interrogating 3 women who were training to become detectives. To test their skills in recognizing a suspect, he shows the first woman a picture for 5 seconds and then hides it. "This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?"

The first woman answers, "That's easy, we'll catch him fast because he only has one eye!"

The policeman says, "Well...uh...that's because the picture shows his profile."

Slightly flustered by this ridiculous response, he flashes the picture for 5 seconds at the second woman and asks her, "This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?"

The second woman giggles, flips her hair and says, "Ha! He'd be too easy to catch because he only has one ear!"

The policeman angrily responds, "What's the matter with you two?!? Of course only one eye and one ear are SHOWING because it's a picture of his profile!! Is that the best answer you can come up with?

Extremely frustrated at this point, he shows the picture to the third woman and in a very testy voice asks, "This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?" He quickly adds" . . . think hard before giving me a stupid answer."

The woman looks at the picture intently for a moment and says, "Hmmmm . . . the suspect wears contact lenses."

The policeman is surprised and speechless because he really doesn't know himself if the suspect wears contacts or not. "Well, that's an interesting answer . . . wait here for a few minutes while I check his file and I'll get back to you on that."

He leaves the room and goes to his office, checks the suspect's file in his computer, and comes back with a beaming smile on his face. "Wow! I can't believe it...it's TRUE! The suspect does in fact wear contact lenses. Good work! How were you able to make such an astute observation?"

"That's easy," the woman replied. "He can't wear regular glasses because he only has one eye and one ear.

Speaking of smart woman....:)

A Visit To Ireland

The Queen visited Ireland yesterday and I must say how very elegant she looked wearing the emerald green outfit. Apparently no other monarch has visited Ireland for about 100 years, so it was a first for the Queen.

I remember my first visit to Ireland. It was about 15 years ago. I loved the place. We stayed at a little village called Leap, nr Skibbereen. The highlight of my visit was going to the Waterford crystal factory. It was well worth a trip. :)

Stay At Home Mothers Or...................?

Working Mothers?....Let's not forget that stay at home mothers work hard to take care of their children too. We multi task. It's not all fun and games which is the reason why many Mums I think go back to work straight after they have children. :)

This was the topic/subject on this morning's Heart radio breakfast show.

Hmm It is indeed a good question...but I'd choose the 'Stay at home Mothers' as my own personal choice mainly because I was one these. I went back to work when my childen were older. :)

Everyones ideals in life are different and so it is the personal choice of each individual parent/s on how they choose to bring up their own children. You most definitely do not have to spend all of your time walking around parks feeling bored of doing the routine things with your children when you are a stay at home Mother. I definitely did not! I had some very varied days as a Mother. I had the freedom to take my children on outings during the week and not on the busy weekends. We often went out with other friends who were also stay at home mothers. We'd go on a number of adventures on our days outings together. We spent time at the indoor play centres. We spent our time visiting each others homes with our children. I spent some of the time doing voluntary work at the Pre-school. We spent some days inviting children's friends over to our home for dinner (tea) and we sometimes had sleepovers. We attended children's parties organised by parents at their homes or other venues. I never missed a sports day, not until the children were older. We spent time with grandparents and sometimes going on outings with them. We never cancelled doctors or dentist appointments which were made for us as there were no work commitments, if the children were sick I didn't have to worry about taking time off work to care for them, we have never paid for childcare....and we also made the time to take walks in the parks.:)

I could name a far greater list of things we all did together and being a full time Mother enabled us to spend 'Special' times together.

There was time for the housework too, however my home was not a show home...it actually looked lived in with children's toys scattered all around us. I loved every moment of it and if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. :)

Each to their own and I do not criticize those who do things differently to me. Everyone is entitled to do things in their own way....but I did it "my way." ;)

What do you think of hunting? Do you agree with it?

I am wondering why you are asking the question? I have never been involved in any type of hunting before. I presume you are asking the question because of those six baby fox who were dumped in a barrel recently? Anyway, I do not have any stong opinions about hunting...only that I have kept friends with folk who have all been on the various hunts in the past and who have been involved in hunting. They all seemed to enjoy their sport. It is a sport which was very popular for a great number of years before a ban on hunting in England and Wales back 2005. It was to outlaw fox hunting, deer hunting, mink hunting and organized hare coarsing...although hunting remains legal in Northern Ireland. It has been found that fox hunting is a contribution to the control of foxes. The Hunting Act was not intended to stop, 'drag hunting' where hounds are trained to follow an artificial scent, because no animal is chased. There have been many controversial debates on the topic of hunting over the years. I am always open to listening to the 'fors and againsts' for this topic as I have always been undecided on my own views, particularly as I have never hunted before. A friend once invited me to a hunt meet, however we never got around to it. Oh well. I still remain unsure. :)

I got them cashed from the manager of my bank. In fact, it made my work easier when I went to pay off my bills. I did not have to stand in long queues to pay them. In fact I was given the fastest service ever!!!

Here is how I utilized them:

15 kisses to the milkman

10 kisses to gardener but he took 5 extra

20 kisses to the landlord + some other "stuff" too!

10 kisses each to electricity, phone and gas people

I am left with 30 more kisses which I think will last till the end of the month....!

Family Evening

I have been really busy decorating however it was also nice to take a little break to visit family members. I spent the evening with my folk in Stamford recently whereby I enjoyed a lovely dinner and friendly chatter. It was a lovely evening. There was no television and just family time together. You can't beat those times. :)

I spent the evening visiting a friend whilst we watched the Eurovision Song Contest recently. Well it was nice to just sit and relax in front of the TV with some ginger beer. I didn't agree with the winner, as usual. :)

Well done to Spain for feeling proud of their own language as I feel the same about mine. It wasn't an English contest therefore I didn't expect only to listen to English songs. :)

Terry Wogan was sadly missed from this year's contest however I really enjoyed listening to host Graham Norton as he was rather amusing. I loved his comment about saving the best for last, but not in the case of the final song playing that evening. LOL I tend to agree with him. ;)

Hmmm never mind England, there's always next year to win. :)

If your ex husband's neice/nephew were getting married, would you expect to be invited to the wedding particularly if your own kids were invited?

If I had played a big part in their upbringing/lives even after divorce, still continuing to do so right until the happy event then one would be delighted at an invitation, however it is one thing to get an invite and another to expect an invite. The reason I would not expect an invite is because the couple would be my 'ex' in-laws and not my immediate family. They would be under no obligation to continue seeing me once we are divorced let alone invite me to the wedding.

Also depending on how the marriage ended could determine what kind of relationship you have with the in laws after the marriage has ended. :)

What are your religious views? Do you believe in a religion?

I most certainly believe in religion. I have some religious views. I am a firm believer that one should not discuss their religious views over the internet nor should folk fall out over religion. Everyone should be entitled to have their own beliefs but they shouldn't fall out if someone else doesn't share those same beliefs. Religion has caused many folk to fall out unnecessarily over the years. It is indeed the reason why I much prefer not to discuss religion in too much detail. I have always been one of those folk who are open to listen to other folk’s religious points of view though. Heck! I once invited Jehovah witness folk into my home for a pot of tea and I listened. A Mormon gentleman once gave me a small bible to read. He knew that I wasn't a Mormon however he was willing to share his beliefs with me. I don't mind listening to other folk telling me about their beliefs as I have had friends who are of all different religions. Just as long as someone doesn't try to sway me from my own beliefs then I don't really have a problem with it.

I don't really care what religion anyone else is, just as long as they are respectful of me. :)

Was The Policeman Being Honest?

A friend recently sent me this little story. I'm unsure who wrote it but was the Policeman being honest? :)

A police officer was giving crime prevention advice to a group of young women at a college in Toronto. The poor naive officer at one point said that he shouldn't really say it but if you want to avoid sexual assault then don't dress like a slut.

These comments have caused outrage amongst women's rape support groups and the feminist movement as a whole and 'slut' marches have been taking place all over the world. Their message is that women should be allowed to dress and express themselves however they like but this is not an invitation to men to rape or sexually harass women. The suggestion by the officer is that women are perpetrators rather than victims.

I have every sympathy with the protesters view on these comments. In an ideal world women might be able to walk down the street wearing next to nothing and no man would so much as offer a wolf whistle. Likewise in an ideal world you should be able to walk down the road waving around a grand in cash and no one should think about robbing you. The trouble is that this Utopian state does not exist yet and so it probably is best not to dress like a slut or wave large wads of cash around.

This naive officer made the mistake of giving some practical but non PC advice. He has been discliplined for it and hopefully will learn not to offer honest advice again.

Do you think it is fair to use your celebrity status to influence, persuade, promote certain stuff or other peoples views in some things?

I think it is only good if the subject you are influencing, persuading or promoting is something which is good and is likely to make the world a much better place. For instance: if a celebrity who takes drugs decides to go on the TV and tell the world "Hey man, these are good to take" then I wouldn't like that very much. Or if a celebrity was trying to influence folk in the wrong manner then I wouldn't like it...no. So there are cetain things where I draw the line at. If they are influencing kids in the right manner, than that can only be a good thing. :)

Ps I am not a celebrity. :)

Ask Me Anything, Just As Long As It's Within Reason. :)

If you could enact one law, what would it be?

LOL I have many laws which I would like to enact. It is a good question though. One I can think of immediately is that I think it should be absolutely necessary that all new drivers who have recently passed their driving test, they should be made to drive with a 'P' plate on their cars soon after they have passed their tests so that other drivers are aware that they are new to the roads. Until they have been driving on their own for more than a year, they shouldn't be carrying more than one other passenger in their cars either. Quite often newly passed drivers go out to celebrate their success taking lots of passengers in their cars, particularly when they are not confident drivers themselves. The noise and the excitement is likely to be confusing to a young newly qualified driver and they're likely to lose concentration.

Or how about doing away with gagging orders? It is often only there to hush folk from discussing those guys who are rich and naughty anyway. :)

Agreeing To Differ

Sometimes you are just never going to agree with someone else's opinion, particularly when they are the opinions of friends and family. I should know because I've often disagreed with some members of my family/friends when we have had an open discussion about something.

The point I am trying to make is, not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you and it is often much easier to agree to differ with those who are just not going to listen to your point of view.

Agreeing to differ is just one simple way of stopping folk from falling out sometimes. :)

What is your ultimate goal in life?

Folk have often asked me this question and I usually decline to give them an answer just in case I don't manage to achieve any of my goals and I end up feeling disappointed. I think in order to achieve some of those goals it can often depend upon what kind of a job you're likely to have and whether or not you're able to afford some of those goals you're aiming for.

If you were to ask me what ultimate goal in life I have that wouldn't cost me a penny, then I'd have to say that I've been extremely fortunate so far to achieve many of those goals already. :)

We quite often went with other friends who were also stay at home mother's. We'd go on a number of adventures during our days outings together. We spent time at the indoor play centres. I sometimes took them swimming. We spent our time visiting friends homes so that our children could play together. I spent some of the time doing voluntary work at the Pre-school. We spent some days inviting children's friends over to our home for dinner (tea) and we sometimes had sleepovers. We attended children's parties organised by the parents at their homes or other venues. We had fun days at the seaside together. We watched some great children's programmes on the TV. We played board games together. We did lots of fun art projects together. I never missed a sports day/parents evening, not until the children were older. We spent time with grandparents and sometimes going on outings with them. We never cancelled doctors or dentist appointments which were made for us as there were no work commitments which interfered with this. We also made the time to take walks in the park to feed the ducks.:)

I could name a far greater list of things we all did together and being a full time Mother enabled us to spend 'Special' times together.

There was time for the housework too and the girls would get their play ironing boards etc out so that they could copy me..... however my home was not a show home/palace...it actually looked lived in with children's toys scattered all around us. I loved every moment of it and if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. :)

Each to their own and I do not criticize those who do things differently to me. Everyone is entitled to do things in their own way....but I did it "my way." ;)

"My Way" by Frank Sinatra....only imagine it as a woman singing it when it comes to the part...For what has a woman what has she got if not herself.....a song made for me I think. ;)

I Actually Sat Up To Listen!

You know when you're listening to a programme on the radio, then all of a sudden you switch your mind off to what you're listening to when the adverts come on? It's a little like having your mind take a short break from totally listening to what is being said. Well I was listening to the radio this morning and I actually sat up to listen to one of the advertisements on the radio because the lady advertising had a very clear, precise and nicely spoken voice for a nice change. The Van Hage garden centre was being advertised. It is the first advertisement for ages which made me stop and listen. Well done! :)

All Hushed Up!

Gosh! There has certainly been a lot of hoo hah recently about the Super Injunction Orders which some of the wealthy folk seem to favour in order to hush their affairs. What's the point of them? It seems that if you want to know anything about anyone, then Twitter seems to reveal all....that's all very weel just as long as you accept that not all information comes from a reliable source. Some folk tend to like stirring things up a little, particularly if they access their accounts from an internet cafe etc.

Hmmm I opted not to have a Twitter account anymore, however I was a little curious about the site a number of months ago...so I signed up for a little while because I was a little curious about the site.

Since leaving Twitter, I do not think I've lost any sleep about it. :)

A Little Adult Humour

I enjoy watching a little adult humour from time to time and you can't beat a little of the British double entendre sense of humour. :) One programme which has been making me chuckle is a relatively new programme to our TV screens. It's called 'Campus.' I'm finding it highly amusing. If you've not watched the programme yet, then it's definitely one to watch out for. :)

I love their version of "Eternal Flame" originally sung by The Bangles. :)

"The Apprentice"

"You're fired!" Those are the famous words we are familiar with when watching Sir Alan Sugar on the TV programme 'The Apprentice." :)

I watched the first programme of the new series this evening. Goodness! It is very difficult for me to tell who has the greatest potential of winning the programme. I would agree that the gentleman who was fired this evening was probably the same person I would have fired had I been in Sir Sugar's shoes, although both teams tried their hardest on this evening's programme and neither team really made any huge mistakes.

Hmmm those oranges did look like grapefruits though. :)

I'm looking forward to tuning in next week. :)

Painting and Decorating

The painting and decorating appear to be going well. Well put it this way... I seem to have more paint on the walls than on me! :) I walked around with a little blob of white paint on my cheek yesterday evening but apart from that I wasn't wearing too much. ;)

Ewww it's Friday 13th this week, I had better get rid of the ladders for that day. :)

Working With The Public

Ever since I was a school leaver (almost 16yrs old) I have mainly worked in the public eye so to speak. I dread to think how many years it has been now however I have always enjoyed it and I have often found most folk to be really pleasant to deal with. There was a few years inbetween those times when I was either stuck behind a sewing machine, working in an office or being a stay at home Mother...however for the majority of the years I've had great pleasure in being front line staff. As a school leaver I once worked at a busy little golf club, in fashion boutique, jewellery shop, behind a hotel reception desk and other reception/clerical jobs. Meeting different folk on a daily basis was something I became used to. :)

Although I've never worked as a waitress before....I really like this song. :)

A New Baby For Baby Spice!

I was reading recently that Emma Bunton from Heart radio has given birth to a bouncing baby boy named Tate. Congratulations to her. I have been eagerly waiting to hear news of the arrival of her baby. I enjoy listening to her Saturday afternoon shows sometimes. This of course follows news of Jason Donovan, also from Heart Radio and his wife who also recently gave birth to a baby girl named Molly. Awww that's a sweet little name. I wonder if both babies will become playmates? :)

Heck! I wouldn't want to sit on the same chair as those two. ;)

Official UK Public Engagements

Now that the newly weds Kate and William are a couple I would really like to see the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge making more diary dates for official public engagements here in the UK rather than too many abroad. So far I've read about them travelling abroad but there's nothing really mentioned for here in the UK. Are the trips abroad for their honeymoon or are they official trips? If they are part of their honeymoon then I don't think the public are all that interested in what they get up to whilst they are honeymooning or away on their holidays. That should be their own private affair. We as the public should only be interested in their more public and official engagements, that is unless of course the newly weds choose to blog their honeymoon/holiday events or show their own photographs to make them public. Holidays and honeymoons are hardly newsworthy for any celebrty or Royalty. I am far more interested in what they all get up to in their more official engagements and to not watch folk sitting out sunning themselves on beachbeds or wherever. That's boring to say the least...it's like watching paint dry. Most of us have a good time when we're away on our holidays etc however those days should be made private and not for anyone else to scrutinize over. So far I've seen lots of celebs having fun on their holidays but they don't seem to be doing much else. We want to see what talent they have and not what colour swimsuits they're all wearing. It's all laughable.

Yawn! Some websites can be really tacky sometimes but at least it gives us all an idea of those who are less talented sometimes. ;)

Does Britain Have A Lot Of Talent?

After watching the programme 'Britain's Got Talent' recently I was amazed to see just how little talent Britain actually has these days....or if there is any talent out there, they're all certainly keeping a very low profile. ;) Whatever happened to good quality? :)

Firstly, let me just comment on the three judges. I cannot believe all three judges said "Yes" and let some of those truly talentless folk through. What qualifications do they all have to make a truly good judge? To be a good Judge you need to at least be honest and offer those who were not good some constructive criticism so that the contestants had something to work on to make their act much better. None of the judges were what I'd call 'being honest'....not at all. If they were then they really aren't suitable to judge a talent programme.

I watched David Hasselhoff on the Pierce Morgan programme later on in the evening and I must say that he was more suited to entertaining the Queen at the Royal Variety show than some of the contestants on the Britain's Got Talent programme. He may not be a great judge; however he is truly entertaining when he sings. He looked every bit the entertainer when he sang at the end of the show. :)

As for the contestants on last nights programme, there were only two acts that I would have said a definite "Yes" to. The first of those acts were the young boy band 'New Bounce'...they sang a little out of key to begin with, however they soon bounced back with a great song "All of my Life." They were fabulous. They gave a lovely interview too. :) My other favourite of course was Micheal the dancer from France. He may not be a Brit however he truly entertained me with his dancing. :)

As for Michael McIntyre, how on earth did he find the guy with all of the slices of toast truly entertaining? He was definitely no Rolf Harris and that's for sure. At least Rolf made his act very entertaining by telling us a story or two as he doodled or he gave a blast on his didgeridoo. I has it a guess Michael McIntrye gave the thumbs up to this young guy because he was happy to see his own face up there in Marmite...now there's an idea.;) I prefer Michael McIntyre as a comedian and not as a judge. :)

Oh well! Fingers crossed the programme may come up with some real talent next week. :)
