The Queens Diamond Jubilee Concert/Celebrations

Wow! It does not seem all that long ago when we were celebrating the Queen's Silver Jubilee.

What a very moving and historic occasion it was today. There were street parties everywhere.
Many folk gathered across the UK, The Common Wealth and the World in order to help celebrate the Queen's 60 year reign.

Thousands of folk gathered today to celebrate at the Queens Diamond Jubilee Concert  just outside Buckingham Palace.  Almost the entire Royal Family attended the concert but unfortunately Prince Philip was unable to attend the celebrations this evening as he was recovering in hospital after apparently suffering from a bladder infection. He is wished a speedy recovery. :)

I went out with friend's yesterday afternoon and we all celebrated the jubilee with Sunday lunch, a few drinks, some laughs and great company. :)  The day before I spent with my youngest daughter Lauren and we went to Hamerton Zoo for the day before lunching and going to the Cinema to see "What To Expecting When You Are Expecting." :)

4000 Beacons around the world were lit in honour of the Queens Diamond Jubilee. The Queen lit one of those beacons during this evening's concert just before the final firework display. They looked spectacular.  I sat at home watching the celebration concert on the TV however I managed to Tweet a little via Twitter. :)

There were a number of great artists who all performed at this evening's event in order to honour the Queen. The event was organized by Gary Barlow. There were a number of my favourite artists who all performed their songs on stage. It was spectacular, perhaps one of the best I've seen for a long time. :)

The concert was opened by Robbie Williams performing his song "Let Me Entertain You" with a marching band. :)

Other artists who were all there to entertain the Queen this evening were: Jessie J, Will I Am, JLS, Gary Barlow, Cheryl Cole, Cliff Richard singing "Congratulations," Lang Lang and there was some opera...loved "O Sole Mio" (aka The Cornetto song) and the song from West Side Story performed on the balcony. There was Prince Harry look-alike Ed Sheeran, Annie Lennox, Rolf Harris singing "Two Little Boys," Grace Jones and her hula hoop, Madness, Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey singing "Diamonds are Forever", Kylie Minogue, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Peter Kaye and finally Paul McCartney. :)

All of the artists were amazing. I loved the special Jubilee song called "Sing" whereby singers from the Commonwealth Band and MilitaryWives performed the song which was arranged by Sir Andrew Webber and Gary Barlow.

The Queen looked amazing in her golden attire. In fact she looked stunning. :)  I also loved the film footage of the Queen over the past 60 years of her reign.  It was worth watching. :)

I would like to take this opportunity to wish The Queen all of the very best for the rest of the Jubilee celebrations tomorrow.  It has been wonderful to see everyone across the country get together and enjoy all of the celebrations over the past few days. Some folk really went to town with all of their decorations. :)

The end of the concert ended with a very splendid firework display and a bit of 'Pomp and Circumstance' ;-)

*Sighs* What a lovely and relaxing day I have had  today. :)

PS I'm sure I saw Prince Charles waving his red, white and blue flag and Prince Harry singing along to JLS ;)
