D-Day - June 6th 1944

Many of my Friends will not remember June 6th 1944, mainly because none of us were even born back then however just because we were not around 70 years ago, it does not mean we should not pay our respect to all of those war heroes who lost their lives/war veterans who were involved in the world war and D-Day.

D-Day was a military term used for The Normandy landings on 6th June 1944. It was codenamed Operation Neptune and it was the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II. It was the largest seaborne invasion noted in history.

Yesterday evening I enjoyed listening to "Friday Night is Music Night" on Radio 2, a special commemorative programme in order to remember the D-Day events. It was very good. I loved listening to all of the old songs during that time. It was fabulous.
