A Great Day In Stamford & "San Andreas" :)

I had a lovely day in Stamford with a friend today. We went to The George Hotel for coffee, before browsing around the shops. We popped to The Cosy Club for a drink. We had a very pleasant shopping trip.

LOL It was a little too breezy for my friend as we walked around the town centre, because the wind kept blowing her dress up, it was almost over her head at one time! Thinks she was doing her Marilyn Monroe impersonation.....haha that's usually my trick! ;)

On the way back we decided to stop off for a drink at my local, The Green Man at Marholm. We had a very relaxed and fun afternoon. :)

After my friend dropped me off back home,  I made a quick dart to the Showcase cinema. I couldn't wait to go and watch the new disaster movie "San Andreas" .... The film had me gripping to the edge of my seat, from start to finish. It was that good. :)

A small spoiler:  The film told the story of a family and two brothers and how they try in vain to save each, during the aftermath of a major earthquake disaster in the area of San Francisco.

The film starred  Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Carla Guigino, Alexadra Daddario, Ioan Gruffudd and watch out for Kylie Minogue, she makes a cameo appearance. If you blink you might miss her though. ;)

I remember when I lived in Stamford a few years ago, there was a mini earthquake/tremor. It frightened the living daylights out of me. I remember tweeting about it, to see if anyone knew what it was. I did not realize at the time that it was a mini earthquake!

Oddly enough, only today, the day after going to watch the film at the cinema, I was sitting at my work station and half way through the morning there was a noise coming from where the building work was taking place, in the close proximity of where I was sitting.  It was quite scary because the building I was working in, began to shake and there was this loud tank sound.  It reminded me of that evening in Stamford when I felt that tremor for real.  I thought we were having another mini earthquake.

Going back to the film,  it is definitely worth a watch. :)

My Favourite MOTHERS :)

Mothers

I think most Mums do a very good job. :)

I'm a Mum and I love both of my daughters heaps. :)

My favourite types of Mothers are those who are/were similar to me. They are Mothers who took the time to care for their own children by spending valuable time with them, hence giving them a good start in life.

We were not rich or wealthy, nor were we relying upon social security monies to help us to take care of our children. Instead, we took time away from the work force, without payment and we lived on just the one family income.

It wasn't always easy, but we managed for a few years during the most important years of our children's  lives, those informative years when a child needs their Mum the most.

I have met a number of Mothers like me, particularly during my time away from work. I was a full-time Mother. It was a pleasure to see there were others like me. We worked before our children were born and we were able to go back to the work force once our children were old enough.

Many of us Mothers i knew, have all returned to the work force, but we are still able to share our memories together, recalling the fun times we spent with our children.

Those are my favourite Mothers,  the ones who took the time to stay at home with their children, because they cared. :)

I think the work force benefits from those kind of Mums, because if you're great at managing a family home, you are likely to have good organisational skills within the work force....and you're likely to have a good caring nature too.

Here's to all of those nice Mums I know. You're all simply the best! :)

As I mentioned previously, I like most Mums, but my favourite Mums of all, are those like me, mainly because we have shared the same experiences and we all have something in common.

PS. I think the children of all of those Mums, are simply the best too....and they would all be great in the work force. I'm sure the females in particular would all make great Mums. ;)

"Tomorrowland" :)

Last Sunday:

I went to watch the Disney film "Tomorrowland" this evening. It starred George Clooney and Hugh Laurie.

I won't be a complete spoiler here, however the film is about a former inventor (George Clooney), who meets a young girl named Casey (Britt Casey). She has a curiosity for anything scientific. She and a robot seek Frank (George Clooney) in order to find a way back to Tomorrowland. What an adventure. I loved the inventions he used to fight off the robots. :)

Wonders if Tomorrowland is anything like heaven ? Anyway, it is a film worth going to see. :)

Earlier today I met up with my eldest daughter Catherine at Macdonalds. It was good to catch up together.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who are the proud parents of a new baby girl. It's a baby sister for Prince George! How delightful. :)
